Past Tubby Cove, the Butterfly Trail loops around a short wetland path with a binocular lookout and wooded shelter where wildlife are easily observable. A garden, wind turbine, and solar panels complete the picturesque setting. In the spring, butterflies abound in the central field, drawn to the variety of flora.
Eastern Neck Island National Wildlife Refuge - Tubby Cove

After the bridge onto Eastern Neck Island, there is parking on the right for Tubby Cove, which offers a scenic decked pathway to two towers overlooking the adjacent wetlands. Fantastic sunsets on the water.

This seventy-two acre park hosts Washington College's club rugby teams on one of its six ball-fields. The park also has two equestrian rings, two tennis courts, two volleyball courts, two basketball courts, a batting cage, a playground, a picnic pavilion and horse shoe pits. Concessions are available at the concession stand during league games and special events.
